We all know that that a pyramid scheme is illegal in these United States. That it only serves as a means to defraud hardworking people out of their money promising things that will never happen or metalize. Many people confuse multilevel marketing, which is legal, with a pyramid scheme, which is not. Many pyramid schemes nowadays try to present themselves as multilevel marketing firms. For the fact that they are legal. It is easy for a pyramid scheme to masquerade as a multilevel marketing, since they are essentially the same. However, there are a few things to look for if you suspect a pyramid scheme to be taking place.
A pyramid scheme consist on someone on the top of the “pyramid”. This person recruits two people to buy into the “business”. Now the top person maybe promising to sell some type of goods or service. Although this is baloney they strongly stress how successful they became and how the service or goods is. He will also encourage his two recruits, the second level of the pyramid, to recruit two more people. These four people will recruit two people apiece. You have to remember each person will pay a large sum of money to the top of the pyramid. After the based has been, fulfill the top person moves aside and his two recruiters becomes the top of the pyramid. They will start to generate money from the recruiters. And so on and so forth. This whole “business” does not gain any money from selling any type of goods or services. However, merely from people joining into it. When the recruiters are no longer able to recruit anyone the whole things starts to fall apart.
When trying to decide the legitimacy of a multilevel marketing company take your time and research the business. Go online and try putting their name in search engine. Believe me if they are a fraud you probably not their first fish. Ask questions; if you go to some type of recruiting event prepare questions before hand. Check out the product or products. Discuss the business with a friend or love one who is not involved, that will give an honest and forthright opinion. Always ask yourself if this is something that you can see yourself doing. If it does not fit into your schedule, lifestyle, or career goals and path then it is not the right thing for you. That is ok. You should never feel pressure to join into this type of business or anything else for that matter. Many times, you go to these recruitment conferences and they make you feel like that day is the only day. No other moment in life will this opportunity befall you, so it is now or never? Know that they do this in order for you to make a rash decision based on your emotions and not your mind. Do not fall into the hype.
Some resources that’s available to the consumer that can help a person make a inform decision on whether to join a multilevel marketing business is the Better Bureau Business or contact the Federal Trade Commission. I know like me you work very hard for your money. Do not be swindle out of it on a rash decision. Take your time, research, and meditate on it. If you feel rush or pressure to join, and then leave. It is your money; never let someone else decide how you spend your money.
Stay up to date on the latest MLM trend here.
Top MLM performers of the world have a common theme and that is they put work in themselves. When everyone is partying on the weekend these individuals are putting work into their craft. Today I want to talk about the mindset required to become a 6 to 7 figure earner in any MLM.
It all comes down to those that have a vision and goal to become something extraordinary, look at all top achievers and you will see that they have a goal or vision that is bigger than who they are, that inspires & motivates them because it involves helping other people.
When your work becomes your passion then you will be successful, its those of us that put in the work everyday to become the best, that become more productive each day, that goes out there and hustles and takes massive action will go through the initial challenges and resistances that stops 95% of the people.
This is the truth that people don’t want to discuss, the fact that most MLM newcomers will fail, and the failure rate for top MLM like AdvoCare, 4Life Research, ACN, Alliance in Motion, DoTerra all have 90 to 95% failure rate.
What separates the top 5% from the others, is not necessarily skill or talent, its dedication, drive, grit, hustle & perseverance. Its those qualities that makes a champion. Its those qualities that takes someone from the average to extraordinary.
In school we are taught that our abilities or our grades / intelligence is what makes someone successful or average, yet when I truly became a top earner in MLM, I realized its neither of those things what we commonly think makes us successful rather, its the basics.
Its those people that can put in the reps of doing the ONE thing they know that by doing it they will inevitably become successful.
And I’m figuring out more and more, that when we have blocks that stops us from taking any action at all. Just do that one thing that will make the difference today. That one thing that will get you closer to the close, that one thing that will nudge you forward.
Whether its one sentence of that blog you needed to write.
That one phone call you needed to make.
And next thing you know you are doing the next sentence, and the next task until you build momentum and have a productive day. Its doing the one thing one after the other that will get you far in life.
Self-Mastery is Key
You see the true wealth lies in self-mastery, for a long time I had emotions rule my life and my business. When I had something that happened during the day that upset me emotionally. it would wreak havoc on my productivity. I knew I needed further training & coaching, I knew I needed to hire a mentor that will help me get my emotions in check because I saw the devastation it was doing to my life.
One of my favorite teacher is Robert Smith from Faster Eft, check out his videos on youtube and you will be blown away.
Learn From Failure
So that’s exactly what I did, and what really opened my eyes was this one blogger that used to blog about AdvoCare, he was really into studying the top achievers in AdvoCare and learning about their mindset that contributed to their success and he also studied those that failed, with the understanding that he could learn more from failure or just as much from failure as one can learn from success.
If you’re into MLM and personal development, I highly recommend his site its called Computer Knacks
My goal right now is share with you as much as I can about my #1 passion and that’s becoming an entrepreneur. Making that shift from an employee to entrepreneur someone that takes success in their own hands and makes things happen, instead of waiting for things to happen for them.
For now watch that video above, it will be truly inspirational and motivating for you.
Just to give you a background about myself, I am a father of two beautiful sons and a lover to a beautiful wife. I have been at the MLM game for a while because I have a strong purpose of being there for my family and not slave away the next 40 years of my life at a dead beat job that I’m not going to get anywhere with. So I joined the MLM army and decided to give it a valiant effort back in 2009.
If I told you I struggled that would be an under statement, at the time I was a full time plumber working everyday from morning to dawn and not getting any sleep at night because I was struggling with tremendous stress being able to make ends meet and pay the bills. I was always worrying if there will be enough money left over after all of the expenenses to pay the bills.
It felt like no matter how much I worked I wasn’t making any headway, and then all of the sudden it all changed when I met a friend of friend that was making 6 figures online only work 5 solid hours everyday, I became friends with him on Facebook and became jealous about his life style of waking up everyday whenever he wants and doing something he is passionate in. It was awesome from out side looking in, why really pulled on my heart string was one facebook post he made about being able to spend all day with his daughters and wife because he wasn’t stuck in a cubicle or office. That’s when I decided that I will pursue the MLM venture and become the top earner that can afford big all inclusive trips with my family somewhere in the Caribbeans and I was going to sit by the beach and drink a coconut while my kids played in the sand and beach. I had the whole picture in my head and it was exciting.
Little did I know that the next 5 years was going to be series of failures and confusion and frustration that even brought our marriage to jeopardy. I almost lost the love of my life in the process of starting my MLM business and that’s real talk.
I want to explain to everyone in this blog what it takes to succeed in MLM. What are somethings you should not do when you begin to pursue this business model.
One of the common trap I see people in is that they are told they must market their MLM products to their friends and family, if you want to find a sure and fast way to alienate your friends & family at the next family get together or neighborhood barbeque than this is it.
You will not find a more efficient way of others steering clear out of your way, almost as if you have a invisible repellent that blocks out all the friends in the universe out of your circle.
The problem is not the MLM per say, but it is your approach.
You are missing one crucial step which is prospecting, you are pitching to people that will never be interested in what you are offering and you are wasting valuable time for both parties. Avoid this at all costs, because it will give you the wrong feedback of your success rate. You shouldn’t walk into every interaction with intention of pitching your MLM. That is not normal, you have to be smart enough to understand that.
Be genuinely interested in people like a regular conversation and get to know them a bit and decide if that person would be interested or not, and speak with enthusiasm as well when you do your pitch because its not necessarily the words themselves but the feeling behind those words that makes the difference.
MLM addicts! Lesson #1 for this blog, Avoid pitching unqualified people.
